NASHUA — The seventh annual NH Liberty Forum took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua on Feb. 20 – 23, 2014. The theme of this year’s conference was “Watching the Watchers”. Keynote speakers included New York Times bestselling author, social critic and political activist Naomi Wolf, and NSA whistleblower Thomas Drake. Drake’s attorney Jesselyn Radack, the National Security & Human Rights Director of the Government Accountability Project, accompanied him.
Over two dozen additional speakers were featured. They included open-source 3D-printing gun activist Cody Wilson (called the 14th most dangerous person in the world by Wired Magazine). Perennial favorite Jeffrey Tucker, executive editor of Laissez Faire Books and Distinguished Fellow of the Foundation for Economic Education, attended. Libertarian author James Bovard (in the video clip above) helped fill out the roster. A Blockchain representative gave an introduction to Bitcoin and handed out free Bitcoins to attendees. Emmy-winning journalist and internet phenomenon Ben Swann also spoke.
NH Liberty Forum is the largest and longest-running liberty conference in New England. In addition to numerous lectures and panels, the conference offered a tour of the New Hampshire State House. The State House tour was organized by the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, an all-volunteer citizen watchdog group. Numerous lunches, dinners, social get-togethers and after-hours parties were included in the conference schedule. These events gave out of state attendees the chance to meet and mingle with native Granite Staters and Free State Project early movers.
The conference got media coverage from the Union Leader, the Nashua Telegraph and Bitcoin magazine. Nationally syndicated radio program Free Talk Live broadcast live from the Crowne Plaza throughout the event.
